Chrissy Teigen Begs Her Fans to Stop Asking if She’s Pregnant as IVF Treatment Proceeds

Over a year after traumatic baby loss, Chrissy Teigen announces to her fans that she is trying to conceive again- then begs them to stop asking if she’s pregnant.

On the 19th of February, Chrissy Teigen took to her Instagram account and announced that she has started a new round of IVF treatments, with the hope of conceiving again. This is coming over a year after the model and her husband, John Legend, lost their son, Jack.

Alongside a photo of her working out, she said, “I wanted to let you guys know I’m balls deep in another IVF cycle to save as many eggs as I possibly can and hopefully make some strong, healthy embryos, I honestly don’t mind the shots…they make me feel like a doctor/chemist…but the bloating is a bitch.”

Afterwards, she pleaded with her fans to stop their speculations about her pregnancy status, making it clear that she understood they did it out of excitement and good intentions but it always made her feel bad because according to her “…it just kind of sucks to hear because I am the opposite of pregnant”. Using this opportunity, she further went on to ask that people stop asking other people about whether they were pregnant. She made it clear that it was unkind and people should not ask anybody at all about their pregnancy status. She claimed she had already talked about it in the comments but she got yelled at because “…the internet is wild.”

In September 2020, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend lost their third child, Jack, as a result of pregnancy complications. While sharing a number of heartwrenching photos from the emergency room, she had said, “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough,”

In April 2021, Teigen announced that she will be partnering with the National Infertility Association, Resolve, with the aim of creating a safe and virtual platform for people dealing with issues surrounding fertility and to also reduce the stigma around infertility. This platform will act as a community for people who wanted to share their challenges with other people who are going or previously went through the same problems.

In an interview with Glamour of Fertility Out Loud, she said, “We really wanted to create a community of people who are going through the same struggles, to go on this fertility journey together because it is such a journey.” She also spoke about how the struggle to conceive will come with its own feelings of failure and loneliness, “To be alone and isolated in that feeling is the worst, and I don’t want any woman to have to go through that feeling alone, ever.”
