Britney Spears Signs $15 Million Deal to Write Her Own Tell-All Book

Simon & Schuster and Britney Spears have signed a deal for her to write a tell-all book worth up to $15 million.

The singer has stated that she will tell her side of the story and that it will be powerful after successfully battling to terminate her father’s 13-year conservatorship.

In an Instagram post in October, one month before the judge granted her bid to end the conservatorship, she wrote, “Lord have mercy on my family’s souls if I ever do an interview,”

Multiple sources have confirmed the agreement, with Page Six reporting it first, however, Spears’ team and Simon & Schuster have not responded to press inquiries, per People.

After a very public breakdown in 2008, during which she was placed on two 5150 involuntary psychiatric holds in Los Angeles, Spears was put under conservatorship.

Jamie, Britney Spears father, first announced his intention to leave the conservatorship in August amidst pressure from the “free Britney” movement, but it didn’t happen immediately. In November 2021, Britney’s father filed papers asking a court to terminate her conservatorship as soon as possible.

On November 12, 2021, Judge Brenda Penny declared that the conservatorship was “no longer required.”

She’s cut her ties with her father Jamie and her mother Lynn Spears, whom she believes caused the conservatorship in the first place. She has also accused her younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears of lying and attempting to exploit her fame.

She is still involved in legal disputes with her father, who has asked that she continue to pay his legal fees even though the conservatorship has come to an end.
