Who is The Countess in The Split?

The Split, a drama by Abi Morgan, returns to the screen after a two-year hiatus and fans have become glued to their screen once again.

Following a stream of high-end and popular London divorce lawyers, The Split portrays the stories of these lawyers who each ironically encounter marital struggles of their own. 

In season 3 of the show, we come to see Hannah and Nathan in the final stages of closing out of their divorce, a process which quickly hastened immediately it became obvious that Nathan had found someone else. 

Nina and Rose, Hannah’s sisters, are there for her while she’s going through the heartbreak and Hannah’s mother, Ruth, has launched a podcast.

In season 3, there is a new character who seemed to open up the show and made fans instantly curious about who she may be and what her role in the story is.

Lindsay Duncan is the character who plays The Countess in The Split. She is also called Caroline. Duncan is a lead guest actor in episode one of season three.

Her character is a divorced countess who has refused to move out of her late ex-husband’s house.

Caroline is a stubborn old lady and has chosen to fight against her ex-husband’s will.

Lindsay Duncan is a 71-year-old actress who is popular for her many roles in theatre and on screen. 

Duncan trained at the Central School Of Speech And Drama and, soon after graduating, she dived into the entertainment and movie industry. 

After she completed her studies in London, she began working on TV shows such as Dead Head and Traffik. 

She is married to actor Hilton McRae- they met in 1985 at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Their son Calvin McRae, was born in September 1991.

She has also starred in other shows like GBH, Gifted, Birdman, Rome, Sherlock, and About Time.
