Jade Fernandez From Deep Water Is Also a Yoga Instructor and Teacher

Jade Fernandez is an actress who currently plays Jen Fernandez on Deep Water. She has almost the same name as the character she plays.

Early Life

Jade Fernandez was born on the 9th of December, 1987, and will turn 35 at the end of this year.

She was born on the Homestead, FL Air Force base and- according to her self-written profile on IMDB- developed an interest in acting and performing at an early age. Her father is a Cuban and her mother has a combination of Puerto Rican, Italian, French and Spanish heritages.

On her 32nd birthday and while still filming Deep Waters, she posted on her Instagram, “really special despite being away from family and friends”.

Speaking on similarities between Fernandez and her character on Deep Water, something about their names rings a bell.

On the show, her character has the same last name as she does, ‘Fernandez’ as well as a slightly similar first name, ‘Jen’.

Ultimately, Jade’s character on Deep Water is called Jen Fernandez.

In a recent Instagram post, she posted a photo of her seated on a chair labeled ‘Jen Fernandez’ and stressed that she was not going through an identity crisis.

The caption read, “not going through an identity crisis”.

Although Jade has a minor role in Deep Water, she has been in many other movies, a total of 24 according to IMDB, with four yet to be released.

Some of these movies include ‘FBI’ where she played Jessica Sanchez, ‘Little’ where she played the role of Emily, Creepshow where she played Geesa and Leverage: Redemption, where she appeared in the role of Roxie Jimenez.

Fernandez will also be appearing in ‘Post-Citrus’, Dweller, Strays, and Untitled Goonies Re-enactment Project, later in the year.

Jade Fernandez earned her Bachelor’s degree in theatre and Spanish from the University of Georgia. 

Since then, she has been a yoga instructor, dabbled in long and short-term improvisational comedy, and joined Teach For America- a nonprofit organization that recruits college graduates for the aim of serving as teachers.
