Three years after she became an adjunct professor, she started her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Miami School of Law and graduated in 1999.

While running her work with the organization, Alessandra also handles small claim disputes at San Diego Superior Court and she teaches part-time at the University of San Diego’s School of Law.

She gave this testimony in her capacity as a federal prosecutor who has, according to her, “Personally handled hundreds of child exploitation and human trafficking cases involving thousands of victims”, during the course of her legal career.

Towards the end of her witnessing, she said, “I hope all of the members of this committee,” Serano said towards the end of her testimony, “agree there is no cause more noble than protecting our children.”
