Marie Dillon was born in 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. She is an American entrepreneur who served as CEO of Ulta Beauty, a beauty-related business, from July 2013 to 2021. She is currently the CEO of Retail Industry Leaders Association.

Family

Melina Dillon was born in Chicago and is the fourth of six children. Her father was a steelworker.

Career

Previously, Mary Dillon has served as the global chief marketing officer and executive vice president of McDonald’s from 2005 to 2010. She was also the CEO and president of U.S. Cellular from 2010 to 2013. Dillon is a non-executive director at Starbucks.

She also sits on the board of Daily Harvest Inc.

Education

Mary Dillon has a bachelor’s degree in marketing and Asian studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago, which she earned in 1983.

Awards and Recognition

In 2016, Dillion was named one of Fortune’s 50 most powerful women. She also joined the Save the Children Federation as a trustee in 2016.

She was given the Sandra Taub Humanitarian Award for philanthropic leadership in October 2018. Dillon was also named one of Barron’s Best CEOs, in June 2019.
