Who Are Elina Svitolina’s New Coaches at the 2022 Australian Open?

Elina Svitolina is a Ukrainian professional tennis player who is currently participating in the 2022 Australian open. She defeated Fiona Ferro of France 6-1 and 7-6 in straight sets in the tournament. The Olympic bronze medalist has introduced new coaches to her team, as she believes they will bring new strategies to her game. 

Late last year, she announced her split from her long-time coach Andrew Bettles, as she explained that it was time to move on with her career.  She explained that the split was mutual, during an interview saying, “We finished our cooperation with Andrew Bettles in good relations.”  She also added that she suggested the split and iterated that it was a tough decision, seeing has Bettles had coached her for five years. 

Svitolina has announced  her new coaches for 2022, Andis Juska and Günther Bresnik.

Juska, a former professional player and Latvia’s second-best ever ranked player on the ATP Tour. he has also collaborated with Jelena Ostapenko and Amanda Anisimova.

Bresnik on the other hand, will be her consulting coach, with experience coaching about 25 of the top 100 players, including Elina’s husband, Gaël Monfils. 

Elina says she is ecstatic to start this journey with her new coaches, she says “With both their experiences, I’m confident it will be beneficial for my game. I feel they are the right people to partner with at this stage of my career.”
