But ask around, and you’ll hear another story: silent treatments, money fights, and sometimes friendships that don’t make it back from the trip.
We all know the promise of a girls’ trip bonding, freedom, making memories. But more often than not, what was meant to be a getaway ends up exposing the cracks in friendships. From who’s paying what, to who’s always late, to who’s being “the killjoy”, one trip can turn years of friendship into a huge breakup.
So, are girls’ trips the ultimate test of friendship?

For me, the problem was expectations. Not everyone wants the same type of fun. Some want to party all night, others just want to rest. Nobody says these things before the trip, and it turns into arguments.

I actually love girls’ trips, but I’ve learned to choose wisely. Not every friend is a travel friend. Some people you love deeply, but you just can’t vacation with them. It’s better that way.

Honestly, I think money ruins everything. Someone always ends up covering more than they planned, and resentment sets in. I don’t even agree to a trip unless we’ve discussed money upfront.

My worst fight with my best friend happened on a trip. We didn’t talk for months after. But weirdly, it also forced us to be honest about the things we’d been avoiding. The friendship survived, but it wasn’t the same.
