Apply to the New York Academy of Science Mentorship Program for Girls

Applications for the New York Academy of science’s 1000 girls, 1000 futures mentorship program are officially open. 

The New York Academy of Sciences requests the applications of girls and young women ages 13-17 all around the globe to connect and receive mentorship from female STEM specialists and experts at the 1000 girls, 1000 futures program. The program hopes to help these girls gain access to a wide network of- minds, and learn directly from other women passionate about STEM. 

The program was designed to attract young women with genuine interests in science, technology, engineering and math(STEM) to provide a platform to groom and nurture them as they pursue a career in STEM through self-development, mentorship and networking. 

The academy seeks young passionate, spirited young girls as the world of STEM is gradually gearing towards the inclusion of women. The program hopes to help young women and empower them, help them discover on their own and even work in teams. The program is self-paced and students are allowed to complete their coursework and apply their skills and gain more alongside their peers, while their mentors guide and advise through the program’s duration. The mentors will be involved in the entire process from selecting the best colleges to setting smart career goals. 

The mentorship program will be online.

To be eligible you must be between the age of 13 and 17 years old.  A strong English proficiency is required as all course content and communication is written in English.

You must also have access to at least one communication device, as the course is a virtual program. Such devices may be a smartphone, laptop, tablet with an active internet connection. 

Students must complete two modules of self-paced coursework during the program from September to May, with each module requiring only three to four hours per week to complete. 

The cost is free and students from all regions around the world are eligible to apply.
