Amanda Bynes Gets Support From Her Parents After She Files to Terminate Her Conservatorship

After 9 years, Amanda Bynes takes control of her life as she files for the end of her conservatorship American actress Amanda Laura Bynes has filed documents to put in motion, the end of her conservatorship. 

According to TMZ, this decision has the complete support of Amanda’s parents, unlike the situation in which Britney Spears.

In 2013, Amanda Bynes was placed under conservatorship after a series of episodes that had shown that she was battling issues with her mental health.

She was placed temporarily in a Psychiatry hospital and her parents took over her care when she was released.

Amanda’s attorney, David A. Esquibias, clarified that the decision of Amanda to end her conservatorship was not in any way related to that of Britney Spears’, because Amanda’s decision had been years ago, prior to the #FreeBritney campaign. 

He also said that Amanda’s parents are in full support of her decision because they have seen significant improvement with her health. They have been working together and everyone is on the same page as regards the nullification of the conservatorship.

According to her lawyer, not only has the actress been sober for the last few years, but she has also begun her pursuit towards a bachelor’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

Bynes was born in 1986 and began her career in 1993 as a child actress for Nickelodeon and has since then starred in movies like ‘She’s the Man’, ‘The Amanda Show’ and ‘What a girl wants’. 

The actress has struggled with substance abuse which led to her issues with her mental health and eventually the reason she was put into conservatorship. In 2010, Bynes announced that she would be taking an indefinite break from acting and television- to focus on herself and get her life back on track.

In 2018, she informed the public that she was ready to return to television.

Amanda Bynes has been nominated for many awards including Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, Young Artist Awards, Teen Choice Awards and Hollywood Film Festival to name a few, and she won a number of them including the Kids’ Choice Awards for “Best Television Actress” for ‘The Amanda Show’, Palm Springs International Festival Awards’ for ‘

A conservatorship is a legal order that appoints the guardian, the right to manage the financial affairs and other important aspects of a person who is either a minor, sick or incapacitated.

In 2021, Britney Spears’ battle to end her conservatorship came to light on social media, and this saw the #FreeBritney trend across the internet. 

The reason for this battle was that her father and some other members of her family refused to admit that she was capable of taking care of herself as well as her finances. Brittany was put under conservatorship in 2013 when she began to behave erratically but she had since then become better and healthier.
