Hey people! Introductions are so hard guys! I struggle with formalities. Anyway let’s get right into it. If you read my last post you would know that I am currently doing my NYSC in Benue State, Makurdi to be precise.
When I got to Makurdi, Benue State, I got thinking, “where can I go to relax in the town?” it seemed much too quiet and very unlike the Lagos life I am used to. So I went exploring, and I have put together cool places to chill if you happen to be in town.

Star Shawarma, Kashim Ibrahim Road, Makurdi
I first visited this place with a friend even though I had passed by a couple of times, I never bothered to go in because I felt they’d have just shawarma. Turns out they sell quite a range of meals, their name is just misleading. Their food isn’t all that bad, pretty basic if I’m being honest, but if you’re into aesthetic like I am, you can forgive them for that. Not too pricey. You can get a decent meal for N2000. Overall verdict 5/10
Tito Yoghurt, Railway Bye Pass, Kashim Ibrahim Road, Makurdi
This is basically the Mr Biggs of Makurdi. It is big, nice looking. They are more famous for their yogurt, which is really great honestly. They sell food and pastries at a fairly priced range, however you can kiss good customer service good bye once you get here. Don’t expect their staff to be nice to you. Very very poor customer service. I can’t really say anything about the food because I only got meat pie and yogurt. Overall Rating: 3/10
Dexters
This is just another very basic eatery, I only visited once to have donut and a drink, nothing extraordinary or aesthetic about the place. They didn’t have a variety of food/things to eat either so that was also a turnoff.
Ark City Cafe and Grill 3, Atoshi close, Old GRA Makurdi
Ark city is my favorite so far, nice location and picture worthy. Their food is really great, although a little pricey but their portions are large, so it is fair. It also has an outdoor sitting area and a bar. Which makes it a suitable spot for either a first date or hangout with friends.
City Bay Park Makurdi
It is a park that houses an event centers, outdoor restaurants, shops and facilities for kids to play with. Ideal for a fun outing with the family or drinks with friends. Perfect for evening hangouts.
