Why Did Heather Leave Selling Sunset?

Heather Rae El Moussa, previously known as Young, won’t be part of Selling Sunset’s eighth season after a brief appearance in season 7 before the arrival of her baby boy Tristan.

As one of the original cast members of the Netflix reality show that tracks agents at The Oppenheim Group selling high-end, multimillion-dollar properties, Heather has confirmed her absence from the upcoming season.

This means she won’t be seen alongside familiar faces like Chrishell Stause, Emma Hernan, Bre Tiesi, Nicole Young, Mary Fitzgerald, and Amanza Smith on-screen.

Why did Heather leave Selling Sunset?

Heather’s absence from Selling Sunset appears to be a result of not receiving an invitation back to the show after the birth of her son Tristan.

In April, she expressed gratitude for not being asked to return, describing the show as a ‘toxic environment’ and confirming her decision not to come back.

During an episode of The Skinny Confidential Him & Her Podcast, she shared, “It was a blessing that I wasn’t asked to come back because I’m so much happier filming my show with Tarek.”

Heather and her husband now star in their own show, The Flipping El Moussas, which they not only host but also co-produce.

“We’re co-producers on our show so we pick the hours,” she said.

“With Selling Sunset, I never knew when I was going to be filming,” she continued. “It was last minute, it took over my life, it was hard to do my real job — real estate. It was hard to do anything else.”

However, Heather continues to feature the Selling Sunset hashtag in her bio, under ‘Property’, alongside her new TV show with husband Tarek.

The couple has also unveiled a fresh TV series named The Flip Off, where they engage in a renovation face-off with Tarek’s ex-wife and her partner to revamp houses and compete to achieve the most financial gain.
