Chef and TV personality Rachael Ray has been making quick and delicious recipes for decades.
Since her Food Network debut in 2001, she has become a household name, hosting her own CBS daytime talk show from 2006 to 2023, publishing a magazine, and authoring several best-selling cookbooks.
Recently, Rachael returned to television with two new shows on the FYI Network: Meals in Minutes in April 2024 and Rachael in Tuscany in July 2024.
However, fans have noticed a change in her appearance and are expressing concern about her health, sparking speculation and discussion on social media.
Fans are asking about Rachael Ray’s health.
Following the release of clips from Rachael Ray’s recent FYI shows, some viewers have expressed concern about her health, citing perceived changes in her speech and appearance.
Specifically, some fans have noted that Rachael appears to be slurring her words and that one corner of her mouth seems to be drooping, sparking speculation about potential medical conditions such as a stroke or Bell’s palsy.
However, others have come to her defense, pointing out that her mouth has always had a slightly asymmetrical appearance.
The debate has played out on social media, with one commenter urging kindness and consideration, saying “Either way, be kind,” while another countered, “You guys, her mouth is always slanted like that.”
Rachael Ray’s health has been a subject of interest, but the only publicly acknowledged issues have been related to her throat and voice.
In 2006, she revealed to People magazine that she frequently loses her voice due to weakened vocal cords from childhood croup.
She has since worked with a voice doctor to manage the issue.
In 2008, rumors surfaced about her having throat cancer, but her publicist, Charlie Dougiello, promptly denied them, stating that Rachael was undergoing minor surgery to remove a benign cyst from her vocal cord.
The procedure was described as a common and routine “in-and-out” operation that wouldn’t impact her work on her daytime show or Food Network appearances.
A source also told People at the time: “She’s totally fine. It’s just something she needs to take care of. She hasn’t been feeling ill.”
The following year, Rachael’s publicist told ABC that Rachael hadn’t had the surgery at the time she’d originally planned, but rather had opted for vocal therapy. However, she ultimately had the surgery in July 2009.
Rachael Ray ignores fan concern over slurred speech with new social media post
Rachael Ray brushed off concerned fans who called her out for slurring her words in a recent cooking video.
The celebrity cook took to Instagram Wednesday to share a new paella recipe, writing, “Break out the cast iron 🥘.
“It’s time to put a little pep in Wednesday night’s dinner step with a shrimp 🍤 and chorizo paella party 🎉”.
Rachael Ray has yet to comment on a recent video that has raised concerns among her fans, in which she appears to slur her words while sharing a story about cooking for the late legendary singer Tony Bennett.
In the video, posted on Monday, Rachael recalls inviting Tony and his wife, Susan Crow, to her home for dinner, where she claims to have almost “killed” him with her cooking of his favorite dish, ossobuco.
The video has sparked speculation about Rachael’s health, but so far, she has not addressed the matter.
“I had polished the floors in the kitchen because, well, Tony Bennett’s coming to dinner,” Ray shared. “I have to make sure the floors are perfect and the house is clean and everything is just amazing.”
