Personal life
Kaitlan’s father is Jeff Collins, a high-level mortgage executive. Kaitlan is the eldest of four children. Cole and Brayden are Kaitlan’s two brothers, and Lena Grace is her sister.
Education
She attended Prattville High School. After finishing high school, she enrolled at the University of Alabama, where she originally studied chemistry and later converted to journalism and political science. She graduated in May 2014 from the university.
Career
Kaitlan graduated from the University of Alabama and began working as a freelance blogger and writer. She was hired by The Daily Caller in June 2014 as their entertainment reporter. After three years, she was promoted to the website’s White House Correspondent in 2017. In June 2017, she moved to CNN and continued with her previous position of the White House Correspondent.
CNN reports that since joining the network in 2017, Collins has broken several stories in her coverage of the Trump White House, including major staff departures and consequential policy decisions. She has travelled with President Trump to at least six countries.

In 2018, Collins was named one of Mediaite’s 50 Most Influential People in News Media.In January 2019, she was named to Crain’s NewsPro’s 12 to Watch in TV News. She was listed among Forbes’ “30 under 30: Media” in 2019.
