Shakira was forced to cancel her Sunday concert in Lima after being hospitalized due to an abdominal condition.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer shared the news on her Instagram and X accounts Sunday afternoon, revealing that she is currently in the hospital and not well enough to perform.
“I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today. I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience,” Shakira wrote.
According to E! News, the 48-year-old Colombian singer arrived in Peru on Friday ahead of her scheduled performances on Sunday and Monday.
Lima was the second stop on her Latin American tour, *Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran*, following two successful shows in Brazil last week.
Shakira received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from her Latin American fans, with crowds gathering at airports to greet her.
“Thank you for such an emotional welcome, Lima!” she posted on Instagram Saturday.
She also expressed her hope for a swift recovery. “My plan is to perform this show as soon as possible. My team and the promoter are already working on a new date,” she wrote.
“Thank you for understanding,” she concluded. “I love you very much.”
The mother of two did not provide additional details about her condition.
