Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were spotted at SNL50: The Anniversary Special in New York City amidst the ongoing legal issues surrounding her latest film, It Ends With Us.
Reynolds, 48, made an appearance during a segment with former cast members Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who were taking questions from the audience at Studio 8H.
When Reynolds stood up to ask a question while seated next to Lively, Fey, 54, simply inquired, “How’s it going?”
Reynolds humorously pretended to be nervous and replied, “Great, why? What have you heard?”
This lighthearted moment came after Lively’s It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, who also directed the film, filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, their publicist Leslie Sloane, and Sloane’s PR firm, Vision PR, Inc., alleging civil extortion, defamation, and more.
Baldoni, 41, also sued The New York Times for $250 million over a December article that claimed he and his team engaged in a smear campaign against her.
Additionally, Jed Wallace, a publicist mentioned in a complaint Lively filed with the California Civil Rights Department, has also sued her for $7 million, alleging defamation after her lawyers claimed Baldoni’s PR team hired Wallace to assist in the reported smear campaign.
After referencing the legal drama on SNL50 on February 16, Reynolds asked Fey and Poehler, “You know the material that they made the Coneheads with? Are those edible?” Fey humorously advised against eating the material that shaped the heads of Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, and Laraine Newman into the iconic Conehead alien family.
The recurring ‘70s sketch later inspired a 1993 film starring Aykroyd, 72.
