What Does “Bussin” Mean?

The word “bussin” is an AAVE that means that something is fantastic, or really good. In most situations, people would rather use the term to describe food that is delicious. (AAVE means African American Vernacular English).

For example, “That mac and cheese is bussin’!” Or “You’ve got to try this chicken spot out; their food is bussin’!”

In other words, the term “bussin” is essentially a way for Gen Z to describe something as “delicious.”

It does not always have to be about food.

While most people employ the term “bussin” to describe food, others may use it to refer to films, as well as the weather and other phenomena.

This is because the phrase implies that something is “extremely excellent.”

In the case above, you can see that Tay Money is basically saying that the weather is great.

“Bussin (Whole Brand New)” was Tay Money’s debut song. It was released in March 2020 and has over 12 million views on Youtube.

Despite the fact that Tay Money’s song was a hit, the phrase did not take off until nearly a year later. The term “bussin” only began to rise in popularity in February, 2021.
