Woman stalked for 3 years after 10minutes job interview

A woman based in Leicester identified as Jenny Pickering has expressed worry over her safety when her stalker is released from jail.

The stalker identified as Yang Shozol has been jailed three times for harassment and breaching a restraining order.

Jenny recounted that in March 2022, she met Yang Shozol as a recruitment consultant and helped him secure a job.

However, he wouldn’t leave her alone after the recruitment process was over.

“Within the first week, he was really starting to text me and all, it went from a normal candidate being in contact to someone who almost wants a friendship.

“It quickly escalated into relationship, I sent messages telling him to stop”, she said.

Despite being arrested and issued restraining orders, Shozol moved in close to Jenny having found her address.

While in prison, Shozol still found a way to send Jenny letters through social media via a contact in Czech Republic and a voicemail saying “he would wait for her however long it takes”.

Reacting to Shozol’s sentence, Jenny said, “I know the day he’s going to be released, everything is going to stop.

“Yet again I’m gonna be scared to go to the shop, stand in my window. Even now it’s making me sad because I’m really not myself.

“ I’m not living because someone is stalking me”.

The spokesperson for the Leicester police DP Chris Baker, noted that the number of stalking incidents reported to them has increased.

Reports show that as many as 7.5 million people now experience stalking annually in the United States.
