Wendy Williams has stated that she passed a recent medical examination with “flying colors” after being taken to the hospital for a wellness check.
The 60-year-old former host of The Wendy Williams Show was removed from her assisted living facility on Monday after dropping a note from her window that read, “Help! Wendy!!”
On Tuesday’s Good Day New York broadcast, Williams called in from Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan to update viewers on her condition.
Williams has been under financial guardianship since 2022, and last year, her care team revealed that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.
When asked about the tests conducted to assess her cognitive abilities and whether they could lead to an end of her court-ordered guardianship, Williams confidently stated that she passed “with flying colors.”
She was accompanied by Gina, a caregiver not associated with her guardianship, who told anchor Rosanna Scotto that “factually, Wendy is not incapacitated.”
When questioned about how long she plans to stay in the hospital, Williams replied, “I’m waiting to see my lawyer. I saw her yesterday; she’ll be here today.”
Gina added that these test results would “absolutely” be presented to the judge to argue for Williams’ release from the assisted living facility.
“These independent results [are] from a well-known hospital, it’s independent, it’s factual. I would be very disappointed and very concerned if the judge has an issue with those tests,” Gina said.
