Shiloh Jolie, the 19-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, is stepping into a new era, publicly using a shortened name for her professional debut as a choreographer.
At the launch of Isabel Marant’s capsule collection with Net-A-Porter in Los Angeles on Thursday, Shiloh was credited as “Shi Joli” for an original dance performance.
The moniker pays tribute to her famous mother while shortening her legal name.
The dance, featuring dancers Tako Suzuki and Keoni Rose, was performed to singer Luella’s song “Naïve.”
The event, described as an “intimate sunset dinner,” took place at Schindler’s Oliver House in Silver Lake and was attended by celebrities including Milla Jovovich, Alison Brie, January Jones, and Rachel Bilson.
This public debut with a new name follows Shiloh’s legal decision to drop her father’s last name. On her 18th birthday in May 2024, she famously requested to remove “Pitt” from her name, a change that was officially approved in August.
After the judge’s ruling, her legal name became Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.
Shiloh is not the only one of her siblings to have distanced themselves from the Pitt surname following her parents’ intense divorce, which was finalized in December 2024 after an eight-year battle.
In 2023, during an Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority induction ceremony at Spelman College, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 20, introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie.”
Brad Pitt, 61, and Angelina Jolie, 49, who married in 2014, are parents to Shiloh, born May 27, 2006, and twins Knox and Vivienne, born July 12, 2008.
Pitt also adopted Jolie’s children Maddox, 23, and Zahara in 2005, and Pax, 21, in 2006.
