Blake Lively Seeks to Drop Emotional Distress Claims Against Justin Baldoni in “It Ends With Us” Lawsuit

Blake Lively is attempting to remove claims of emotional distress from her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director on the 2024 film “It Ends With Us.”

Court documents show that the “Gossip Girl” actress has asked to withdraw allegations that she suffered from “intentional infliction of emotional distress” and “negligent infliction of emotional distress” due to Baldoni’s alleged misbehavior.

This move by Lively came after Baldoni’s legal team requested that she sign a release form to access her medical and mental health records.

Baldoni’s lawyers argued these records were crucial to address the “emotional distress” allegations Lively, 37, made in her December 2024 sexual harassment lawsuit.

“Instead of complying with the Medical RFPs, Ms. Lively’s counsel recently advised us, in writing, that Ms. Lively is withdrawing her [infliction of emotional distress] Claims,” Baldoni’s team stated in a legal filing seen by Page Six.

A court decision is pending on whether Lively’s request will be approved.

In her initial lawsuit, Lively accused Baldoni, 41, of causing her “severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment, belittlement, frustration and mental anguish.”

The filing described a “hands-on” meeting involving Lively, Baldoni, and the film’s production team to discuss his alleged actions, including claims that he showed her “nude videos or images of women” and discussed his past addiction to pornography.

Lively also accused Baldoni of launching a smear campaign to damage her reputation after she reported the alleged sexual harassment.

She later claimed that her children with Ryan Reynolds—James, 10, Inez, 8, Betty, 5, and Olin, 2—were also “traumatized” by the ongoing situation.
