Liz McClarnon, the 44-year-old singer from the band Atomic Kitten, is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Peter Cho. The happy news comes after she experienced two miscarriages last year.
McClarnon first shared her pregnancy on Instagram on May 13. Now, in a new interview with The Mirror published Sunday, June 1, she’s talking about the emotional journey to get here.
She revealed that she and Cho, whom she met in 2021 and married in 2023, started IVF (in vitro fertilization) early in their relationship. They faced challenges, including three failed embryo transfers in 2022 and then two miscarriages in 2024.
“I said I was ‘done’ after the last one,” McClarnon told the outlet, praising her husband for his support. She admitted feeling “so bad emotionally” after the losses, but found healing by spending Christmas with family.
The singer shared that the whole experience has made her “truly appreciate that having a baby is a miracle,” highlighting how many things have to go right for a healthy pregnancy.
When she announced her pregnancy online, McClarnon posted a video where she eventually stood up to reveal her baby bump.
She wrote that she had been keeping it a secret because “sometimes it was hard to smile,” but after “years of sometimes quite painful IVF and quite dark times,” she is finally pregnant. She hopes to share her story to help others going through similar experiences.
