Road Tripping Across America – Exploring the Best Cities on a Cross-Country Drive

When it comes to road trip locations, there’s nothing quite like the United States of America. Not only do you get to see gorgeous scenery, but you also get to visit some of the best and most female-friendly cities in the entire world. According to a 2023 study, there are eight cities in the world that most travellers are planning to visit this year, and six of them are in the US. These cities are Chicago, LA, New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Birmingham. Since these places offer tons of attractions and activities, it’s no wonder why they’re on most people’s travel bucket lists. Going on a cross-country road trip allows you to visit these places and other popular cities such as New Orleans, Las Vegas, and Orlando, among others. However, you’ll need to plan well in order to get the most out of your trip.

Drive from East to West

Driving across America requires a solid plan for a safe and hassle-free experience. First, you’ll need to rent a reliable vehicle that’s spacious enough for you and your pals. You also need to know what to do in case of emergencies. For instance, if you get into a car accident and your friends got hurt as a result of the crash, you’ll need to talk to passenger injury lawyers so you can help your friends get the compensation that they deserve. You’ll also need to map out your route so you can visit the places that you intend to see, and the way to do that is to drive from one end of the country to the other.

Starting your road trip adventure in an eastern city such as New York City means that you’ll be driving about 2,790 miles before reaching Los Angeles, which is all the way in the western part of the US. While in NYC, make sure to visit all the popular attractions such as The MET, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and Times Square, among others. From NYC, drive on over to Philadelphia for a glimpse of American history. Here, you’ll be able to see the Liberty Bell, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution was signed.

Halfway Through

Once you’re past Philadelphia – you’ll need to decide which direction to take as you drive towards LA. If you continue straight ahead, you’ll be able to reach Chicago, where you can see Millennium Park, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum of Science and Industry. From there, driving towards the south will take you to Atlanta, and you can stop to visit the Georgia Aquarium and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. If you drive a little further to the south you’ll reach New Orleans. Have your fill of authentic Creole food such as gumbo and crawfish etouffee, and make sure to take a walk along the iconic French Quarters.

Head to the East

From New Orleans, drive towards the east to visit three of the major cities in Texas– Houston, Austin, and Dallas. There’s plenty to do here and you can even rest for a day or two in one of the many hotels in these places. After that head on over to Las Vegas and walk along The Strip. You can catch a show at the Caesars Palace, check out the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay, or watch Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand. From here, drive the last 274 miles of your trip to get to Los Angeles. Celebrate the end of your road trip by going on a Warner Bros. Studio tour, having fun at the Disneyland Resort, or just having a relaxing beach day at Santa Monica Beach or Venice Beach.

A cross-country road trip across America is an experience that every woman should have at least once in their life. Consider this route that’ll take you to some of the best cities in the US for an adventure that will stay with you for years to come.
