Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger has voluntarily checked into rehab, her representative announced on Thursday.
The news comes after Huger’s DUI conviction in December 2024.
The announcement coincides with the release of the seating chart for the upcoming Season 9 reunion, which will air on Bravo in the coming weeks.
Notably, Huger’s name was absent from the chart, sparking speculation about her absence.
Karen Huger’s representative announced that the reality TV star has checked into a private recovery program, citing her inability to attend the Season 9 reunion taping.
However, fans are skeptical about the timing, questioning whether Huger is genuinely seeking help or avoiding accountability for her recent DUI conviction.
In March 2024, Huger was involved in a high-speed car crash in Maryland, resulting in multiple charges, including driving under the influence and negligent driving. She was found guilty in December 2024.
Fans took to social media to express their disappointment and frustration over Huger’s reunion absence, with many calling her out for allegedly using rehab as an excuse.
Huger, 61, was found guilty of multiple charges after she wrecked her Maserati in Maryland in a high-speed, single-vehicle crash in March 2024.
She was convicted of driving under the influence; driving while intoxicated; negligently driving a vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner endangering property, life and person; failing to control vehicle speed on the highway to avoid a collision; driving a vehicle in excess of reasonable and prudent speed on the highway; driving a vehicle on the highway with suspended registration and failing to notify administration of change of address within 30 days.
Huger is scheduled to be sentenced later this month, with potential penalties ranging from no jail time to a maximum of two years in prison.
Despite her impending sentencing, Huger has continued to insist that she is innocent.
However, her arrest has been a major plot point on the current season of “The Real Housewives of Potomac”.
