O.J. Simpson’s Bible has been sold to the highest bidder.
The Bible, originally gifted to the late NFL Hall of Famer by his friend and attorney Robert Kardashian Sr., was auctioned off on March 29.
This sale comes just two weeks after Kim Kardashian’s attempt to privately purchase the Bible from O.J.’s estate was rejected.
According to Goldin Auctions, the Bible fetched a winning bid of $65,800, or $80,276 with the buyer’s premium—far exceeding the $15,000 that SKIMS founder Kim Kardashian had offered.
Photos from the auction site show that “The Living Bible” is well-worn, with Robert Kardashian’s name embossed in gold on the bottom left.
Inside, there is a personal message from the attorney, who passed away in 2003 after battling cancer, addressed to O.J.
“O.J. This book will help. God loves and he will speak to you with his words. Read this book every day,” the handwritten note reads. “God has a definite plan for your life. You are his child and he will use you again. I love you and God loves you.”
The date is June 18, 1994, the day after O.J. Simpson (his full name is Orenthal James Simpson) was arrested after a high-speed police chase.
He was charged with the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman.
O.J. was found not guilty in his 1995 criminal trial but was later held responsible in a 1997 civil case.
O.J. passed away at 76 in April 2024 after battling prostate cancer.
Earlier this month, Kim tried to buy O.J.’s Bible privately, but Malcolm LaVergn, who manages O.J.’s estate, rejected her offer.
The Bible was already under contract, and Kim’s offer didn’t meet the financial requirements.
