Meet Kimberly Brooks, wife of Albert Brooks

Kimberly Brooks (formerly Shlain) is an American artist and author. She is also the wife of Albert Brooks. She was born on 20 March in New York City to parents Leonard Shlain and Carol Lewis. However, she spent her childhood in California.

Early Life

Kimberly’s father was a surgeon and the Chairman of Laparoscopic Surgery at the California Pacific Medical Center. Art & Physics, Alphabet vs. The Goddess, and Sex, Time, and Power are three of his best-selling books.

Brooks has two siblings: a brother who is a physician and founder of Private Medical, called Jordan; and his sister Tiffany Shlain, who founded the Webby Awards.

Career

Brooks took up painting after studying literature at UC Berkeley and painting at Otis College of Art & Design. According to her website, her art is a combination of abstraction, landscape, and figuration with regard to identity, history, and memory.

She has travelled around the United States, exhibiting at least 50 times. Most have taken place in California.

How long have Albert and Kimberly been married?

The Brooks’ have been married for over 24 years; they got married in March 1997 at Congregation Sherith Israel, a synagogue in San Francisco. Albert and his wife had a wedding with about 190 guests. Many of Albert’s friends from Hollywood were there, including late actors Garry Shandling and Carrie Fisher.

Albert and Kimberly have two children; Jake, son of Albert and Kimberly, was born on 1 October 1998. Their daughter Claire was born on 27 March 2000.
