These heartbreaks are mostly caused by a cheating partner, random breakup, wedding cancellations or love related problems.

How does the heartbreak insurance policy work?

For some insurance companies, you and your partner pay a monthly or yearly premium and once the partner cheats, or a breakup happens, you can claim the benefits. You can also claim benefits if the partner dies or has a disease which may affect the continuation of the relationship.

As with other policies, you can take out the insurance plan for yourself or your friend’s relationship. Especially if you suspect that their partner is up to no good. To be eligible for a heartbreak insurance policy, you need to be at least 18 years old. Other eligibility requirements largely depend on the insurance company from which you take the policy.

Claiming the benefits of the heartbreak insurance:

Claiming the benefits of a heartbreak insurance can only be done in the case of the following:

Breakups,

Diseases or death of the partner,

Natural disasters like earthquakes, typhoons, floods, volcanic eruption etc

Most insurance companies accept a facebook status update as proof that you are in a genuine relationship. Others accept a joint bank statement, marriage certificates or even testimonials from friends and family etc.

With a heartbreak insurance policy, your breakup can at least have a silver lining.
