Donald Trump Names Lawyer Alina Habba As Counsellor To the President

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Alina Habba as counselor to the president.

Habba previously served as one of Trump’s defense attorneys in his New York hush money case and also acted as his legal spokesperson.

The appointment was announced on Sunday via Trump’s social media platform, Truth Social.

“Alina has been a tireless advocate for Justice, a fierce Defender of the Rule of Law, and an invaluable Advisor to my Campaign and Transition Team,” Trump wrote in a post.

“She has been unwavering in her loyalty and unmatched in her resolve, standing with me through numerous ‘trials,’ battles, and countless days in court.”

“As a first-generation American of Middle Eastern heritage, she has become a role model for women in Law and Politics, most recently being named Chaldean Woman of the Year,” Trump added.

“Congratulations to Alina, her husband Gregg, and her three beautiful children, Chloe, Luke, and Parker.”

Habba later responded on X, stating, “It is the honor of my life to serve the 45th and 47th President of the American people.”

A New York jury found Trump guilty on 34 felony charges connected to a hush money payment made during the 2016 election.

Habba often appeared with Trump during his recent campaign, including at a rally at Madison Square Garden.
