Deborra-Lee Furness Files for Divorce from Hugh Jackman, Settlement Reached

Deborra-Lee Furness has officially filed for divorce from Hugh Jackman, nearly two years after the couple announced their separation. The Australian actress submitted the paperwork in New York on May 23.

Sources indicate that the divorce is uncontested, meaning both parties have agreed to the terms behind the scenes.

An insider told the Daily Mail that “a settlement was reached that Deborra is pleased with, which includes a handsome spousal support payment.”

The source added that while there was “some back and forth,” Furness, 69, “got what she believed she deserved” and both are “financially secure.”

This news comes months after reports suggested the ex-couple, who share two adopted children, Oscar, 25, and Ava, 19, were having difficulty agreeing on how to divide their estimated $250 million fortune.

In March, it was reported that Furness felt “entitled to more money than” Jackman, 56, was offering at the time.

The pair publicly announced their separation in September 2023 after 27 years of marriage, stating in a joint statement, “We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting, and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

Now, with the divorce filing, sources confirm that “everything is ironed out in terms of a settlement, alimony and the expenses for the future of their children.” The insiders also emphasized that the former couple remains “amicable” and “fully committed to being the best parents that they can be.” The final step is for a judge to officially sign off on the divorce.
