Amanda de Cadenet is honoring her friend Michelle Trachtenberg following her passing.
After the news broke on Wednesday, February 26, about Trachtenberg’s death at the age of 39, the 52-year-old media personality and photographer expressed her grief over the loss of the actress.
“Sweetheart Michelle. What sad news this morning to wake up to. It feels strange and awful to be posting this, but I want to acknowledge your death because I cared about you,” her tribute began. The Instagram post featured a photo of a younger Trachtenberg smiling for the camera.
“I will always remember you as the vibrant young woman I met when I took this photo of you …,” de Cadenet continued. “Seeing your face from the hospital bed during our recent FaceTime, even though you didn’t look like yourself, your sweetness and humor were still present.”
“I won’t share the details of our conversations over the last six months, but you were aware that death was a strong possibility,” she originally wrote, though she later deleted those lines.
“I’m only sorry that the outcome wasn’t a better one. Wishing you a peaceful transition, sweet friend, and may your spirit finally find rest. 🫶,” de Cadenet concluded.
She has not provided further details about her friendship with the actress or Trachtenberg’s hospitalization and has made several amendments to her post since then.
The Gossip Girl actress was discovered “unconscious and unresponsive” by police on the morning of Wednesday, February 26. The cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
