Blake Lively Mourns ‘Gossip Girl’ Co-star Michelle Trachtenberg After her Death at 39

Blake Lively is honoring the “fiercely loyal” Michelle Trachtenberg.

Lively, who starred alongside Trachtenberg on “Gossip Girl,” shared an emotional tribute to the actress on her Instagram Story on Wednesday.

Trachtenberg passed away Wednesday morning in New York City at the age of 39.

“This was the first day I met Michelle,” Lively wrote, accompanying a throwback photo of the two. “She was electricity. You could feel her presence the moment she walked into a room; the energy shifted.

Everything she did, she did with 200% effort.” Trachtenberg portrayed the fan-favorite villain Georgina Sparks opposite Lively’s character, Serena van der Woodsen, from 2008 to 2012.

“She laughed wholeheartedly at every joke, confronted authority when she sensed something was off, and was deeply passionate about her work. She took pride in being part of this community and industry, despite its challenges,” Lively continued.

“She was fiercely loyal to her friends and courageous for those she loved; she was vibrant, bold, and unapologetically herself.”

Lively also reminisced about Trachtenberg’s signature caramel-scented lip gloss, noting that the actress wore it because “she wanted to create a pleasant experience for everyone around her, even down to the subtle scent of her lip gloss because she valued the little details.”

Trachtenberg was found deceased at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, and the cause of death has not been revealed.

Lively described Trachtenberg as a “kind person, through and through.”

“The world has lost a deeply sensitive and wonderful person in Michelle,” she wrote.

“May her work and her immense heart be cherished by those fortunate enough to have experienced her passion.”
