Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Promote Voter Registration Ahead Of U.S. Presidential Election

The Archewell Foundation, founded by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, is promoting voter registration ahead of the November US elections.

To mark National Voter Registration Day on September 17, the foundation wrote personalized letters encouraging unregistered voters to register.

“Voting is not just a right; it’s a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities,” according to a statement shared on the Archewell Foundation website, along with photos from the effort.

“At The Archewell Foundation, we recognize that civic engagement, no matter one’s political party, is at the heart of a more just and equitable world. By participating in initiatives like this, we aim to amplify the message that every voice matters,” the statement continued.

“We invite you to join us in this important effort,” the message said, linking out to Vote Forward for more information as well as Vote.gov.

“Together, let’s make sure every eligible voter is informed and empowered to participate in shaping America’s future,” the Archewell Foundation statement concluded.

Although they weren’t directly involved in the Archewell Foundation’s recent letter-writing campaign, their organization’s initiatives continue to support voter registration and civic engagement.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have consistently used their platform to promote voter registration, particularly on National Voter Registration Day.

In September 2020, the couple appeared in a video during ABC’s TIME100 broadcast special, urging viewers to register to vote.

The 2020 video appearance by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle held special significance, as it marked their first joint television appearance since stepping back from their royal roles in the UK and relocating to California, Meghan’s home state.

Notably, Meghan made royal history in 2020 by becoming the first member of the British royal family to vote in a US presidential election.

Similarly, during the 2022 elections, Archewell Foundation posted a photo of Meghan wearing an “I Voted” sticker in a news release titled “Vote.”

This initiative aimed to encourage Americans to go vote.
