Princess Kate, the Princess of Wales, has resumed her royal duties after completing cancer treatment.
According to the Court Circular, Kate met with her Centre for Early Childhood team and Kensington Palace staff at Windsor Castle to discuss her early years childhood project.
This marks her return to work and public engagements following her announcement on September 9 that she had finished chemotherapy.
Kate had shared her cancer diagnosis on March 22.
The Princess’s meeting at Windsor Castle signals a gradual return to her official responsibilities over the coming months.
Her social media video message expressed gratitude for support and aimed to raise awareness about cancer and early detection.
During her recovery, Princess Kate remained informed about her early years’ project, even when unable to work in person.
The project investigates how early childhood experiences contribute to societal challenges like addiction, family breakdown, mental health issues, suicide, and homelessness.
Although her schedule remains uncertain, Kate made limited public appearances at Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon.
A source revealed that Kate will resume royal duties as her health allows, potentially with a light program or a handful of engagements.
The three-minute clip announcing Kate’s completion of her chemotherapy treatment was filmed at Anmer Hall, her family’s country house.
Prince William, 42, and their children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, were all seen in the clip.
“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she said. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,” Princess Kate said in part. “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.”
The Princess said she will be “undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can” while remaining focused on staying cancer-free.
