Cancer-free Kate Middleton Returns to Work For The First Time Since Finishing Chemotherapy

Kate Middleton has returned to royal duties just over a week after announcing the completion of her cancer treatment. On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales hosted a meeting with members of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood at Windsor Castle to discuss ongoing efforts for her Early Years campaign, according to the Court Circular, which tracks the daily activities of the British royal family.

The Early Years initiative, launched by the Royal Foundation, aims to create a nurturing environment for children during their developmental years, with a focus on fostering health and happiness.

Prince William, 42, was not in attendance for the meeting, as he was engaged in a separate engagement, visiting special forces soldiers. No immediate comment was provided by representatives for the Princess of Wales regarding her return to work.

This appearance follows Middleton’s recent update on her health journey. Last week, she shared a heartfelt video with Prince William and their three children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—where she revealed she had completed chemotherapy.

“As the summer draws to a close, I cannot express the relief I feel after finishing my chemotherapy treatment,” the 42-year-old princess shared in a message accompanying the video on September 9.

“The past nine months have been extremely challenging for our family. Life can change so quickly, and we’ve had to find our way through some very difficult and uncertain times,” she added.

Middleton, who first announced her cancer diagnosis in March, described her battle with the illness as “complex, scary, and unpredictable.” Although she has completed chemotherapy, she acknowledged that her recovery will take time and that she will continue to approach each day step by step.

While she looks forward to resuming her royal duties, she also mentioned that her public appearances will be limited in the near future as she continues her healing process. “I am looking forward to being back at work and taking on more public engagements in the coming months when I am able.”

Middleton’s cancer diagnosis followed abdominal surgery in January. While she has not disclosed the type of cancer she was treated for, the princess largely stayed out of the public eye during her treatment, making her first appearance in June at the Trooping the Colour parade and later attending Wimbledon in July.
