Who is Matt Gaetz’s Wife, Ginger Luckey Gaetz?

The decision by President-elect Donald Trump to nominate Matt Gaetz from Florida as attorney general has sparked significant controversy, especially given his past allegations of sexual misconduct.

Gaetz was previously under investigation for sex trafficking, and now he is set to oversee similar matters, leading to increased scrutiny on both him and his wife, Ginger Luckey.

Despite the controversies, Gaetz has support from Trump’s allies and his wife, Ginger Luckey Gaetz, who publicly praised him on X (formerly Twitter) on November 13, saying, “Attorney General will look good on you my love”.

However Gaetz, on Thursday, announced that he is withdrawing as President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Attorney General.

According to him, his nomination had caused a swirl of allegations about paying underage women for sex leading to his decision to withdraw.

How did Matt and Ginger meet?

Gaetz and Ginger Luckey Gaetz first crossed paths at a fundraiser at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in 2020 when she was 26 years old.

The couple got engaged just nine months later. They tied the knot in August 2021, eloping in a small ceremony on Catalina Island, off the coast of Southern California.

Ginger Luckey Gaetz’s background

Originally from California, Ginger Luckey Gaetz studied accounting at UC Santa Barbara, where she was also a skipper on the varsity sailing team.

After graduating in 2016, she continued her education at the University of California-Berkeley to pursue business studies.

Luckey Gaetz has experience as a financial analyst at Apeel, a sustainable food technology company, and at KPMG, a multinational accounting firm.

She currently serves as a manager in KPMG’s Enterprise Innovation, Partnerships, and Commercialization department.

Additionally, she is the younger sister of Palmer Luckey, the billionaire founder of Oculus VR, known for producing virtual reality headsets.

Has Gaetz’s wife addressed his scandals?

So far, Luckey Gaetz has not addressed her husband’s controversies. When sharing her husband’s nomination for attorney general on X, she remarked, “A fantastic choice, Mr. President.”

In contrast, her sister, Roxanne Luckey, has been vocal about the allegations against her brother-in-law.

In a series of TikTok videos reviewed by The Daily Beast, she described the former congressman as “weird and creepy” and labeled him a “literal pedophile.”

In another video discussing the investigations into Gaetz, Roxanne stated, “I saw the character and type of person he is, and when everything came out about him, I honestly, unfortunately, was not surprised.”

However, Gaetz has denied these allegations.
