What Did Heidi Klum and Husband Tom Kaulitz Wear as Halloween Costume?

Heidi Klum is once again showcasing her title as the Halloween Queen!

On Thursday, Oct. 31, the supermodel, 51, hosted her 23rd annual Halloween Party at Hard Rock Hotel New York: The Venue on Music Row.

Famous for her over-the-top Halloween costumes, Klum and her husband Tom made a grand entrance as female and male versions of E.T. from Steven Spielberg’s iconic 1982 film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

“[I] kind of thought about the universe in a different way and I thought E.T. was so cute and how he was wiggling around and all the moments when E.T. got dressed up with a wig and everything so I just thought it would be fun to become E.T. and especially to see two,” she said.

According to The New York Times, the costume features a glowing fingertip as a nod to the beloved film, along with a motorized headpiece that has a movable mouth and eyes.

“I’ve shared a costume idea with someone’s team, actually, and tried to get a price for how much it would cost. And then I found out that person was going to be that and I had been planning this costume for two years,” she told PEOPLE, noting at the time that she would be dressed as “an iconic movie character.

Janelle Monáe also showcased her take on the iconic character, which she revealed on Instagram on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Earlier this month, Monáe, 38, shared with PEOPLE that her version of the costume had been in the works for years.

Klum mentioned that she had completed her final fittings for her costume on Wednesday.

“It’s gonna be very exciting,” Klum said in an Instagram video. “Just did my last fitting and it’s gonna be awesome. I hope.”

“See you all tomorrow,” she added before blowing a kiss to the camera.
