Wendy Williams Spotted in NYC Days After Police Responded to Her Plea for Help at Assisted Living Facility

Wendy Williams was spotted enjoying a dinner outing in New York City on Saturday, just days after being removed from her assisted living facility following a distressing plea for help.

The former talk show host, 60, dined at Tucci, an Italian restaurant in the NoHo neighborhood, arriving in a motorized scooter and wearing a fur-trimmed coat with a bold red lip.

This outing comes just a few days after she dined at the same restaurant with her niece, Alex Finnie.

Notably, the assisted care facility, Coterie, where Williams had been staying, filed a police report alleging that Finnie had broken the law by taking Williams out to dinner, according to TMZ.

The dinner also comes just two days after Williams was removed from Coterie by the New York Police Department (NYPD), following a troubling note dropped from her window that read, “Help! Wendy!!” She was later taken to a local hospital for an evaluation of her mental health.

Williams, who has been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, has been under a court-ordered guardianship since 2022.

Her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has described Williams as “cognitively impaired” and “incapacitated” due to her condition.

However, Williams has publicly disagreed with this, insisting she is mentally sound and seeking to end the guardianship.

Despite this, Williams reportedly passed a psychological evaluation with a perfect score during her hospital visit. Her guardian has requested a new assessment, which is set to take place this spring.

In a recent interview on The View on March 14, Williams spoke about her hospitalization, explaining she needed “a breath of fresh air” and medical attention for her thyroid.

She also expressed her desire to regain her independence, stating, “I need them to stop hovering over me.”
