Renowned rapper, Nicki Minaj paid an unexpected heartfelt tribute to the late Princess Diana during her Pink Friday 2 Tour stop in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
The 41-year-old rapper who was performing at Resorts World arena handed her signature pink microphone to a fan who mentioned he was from Wales.
This led her to make an unexpected connection to the late Princess of Wales who died in 1997.
In a video circulating widely on the internet, the “Queen of Rap” while switching to her British accent said, “Wales! It always reminds me of a dear friend of mine—well, she’s not here anymore—but the Princess of Wales”.
As the crowd responded in excitement, Minaj put her head down and asked fans to hold “a moment of silence for her.”
Shortly after, the rapper resumed her show.
