Unsane European Tour Opener in Hamburg Cancelled

Unsane fans were left disappointed when the rock band took to Instagram last Thursday to share unfortunate news. The European leg of their Occupational Hazard Tour was set to kick off on Friday evening at Molotow in Hamburg, Germany, but the venue unexpectedly cancelled the opening night of the tour. Unsane expressed their regrets on Instagram the day before the show, leaving fans in Hamburg disappointed.

As of now, the venue has not provided any comment on the sudden cancellation. Molotow’s official website indicates that The Haunt was scheduled to perform on Thursday evening, raising questions about the reasoning behind the abrupt cancellation.

Looking back to December, Unsane had initially announced the tour dates for their Occupational Hazard Tour, commencing in Hamburg and concluding in Prague on April 13. The band had plans to perform in cities across Sweden, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, and more. Despite the cancellation in Hamburg, their show in Malmö, Sweden at Plan B is still expected to proceed as scheduled on Saturday.

In a surprise move, Unsane also unveiled the North American leg of their tour just three hours before the unfortunate announcement in Europe. This leg is scheduled for September and October in various cities across the United States and Canada. The global tour is in support of the extended reissue of their 1998 album, Occupational Hazard, released on February 6.

Founded in 1988 by Chris Spencer, Charlie Ondras, and Pete Shore in New York City, Unsane has undergone several lineup changes over their 38-year history. The band has released eight studio albums, three compilations, and three live albums. The current lineup includes Spencer, Eric Cooper, and Jon Syverson.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Occupational Hazard album, Unsane launched a remastered version featuring original tracks and demos. Despite obstacles during the recording process, the album marked a significant milestone for the band.

Unsane’s upcoming shows in Malmö, Sweden, and Jonkoping, Sweden are still on the agenda following the cancellation in Hamburg. Fans can still purchase tickets for the Occupational Hazard Tour on Ticketmaster for a chance to see the band live.

In the ever-evolving world of rock music, Unsane continues to captivate audiences and push boundaries with their unique sound and raw energy. Stay tuned for more updates on their tour and musical journey.
