Tragedy Strikes in Paradise: Deaths of Two Elderly American Tourists on a Carnival Cruise Vacation

Discovering paradise turned into tragedy for two elderly American tourists on a Carnival Cruise vacation at a luxurious private resort in the Bahamas. The Royal Bahamas Police Force reported their untimely deaths in separate drowning incidents on the same day.

The first incident involved a 79-year-old man who was snorkeling at a beach and became unresponsive. Despite lifeguards’ efforts and CPR, he couldn’t be revived. Later that day, a 74-year-old woman was found unresponsive in a pool. Lifeguards and CPR were once again in action, but sadly, she also passed away.

Both victims were traveling on different Carnival Cruise vessels visiting Celebration Key resort. The cruise line expressed condolences to their families and assured that their Care Team was providing support during this difficult time.

Autopsies will be conducted to determine the exact causes of death, while authorities continue their investigations. Celebration Key, a newly opened resort offering exclusive experiences to Carnival Cruise guests, opened just a few weeks before these tragic incidents occurred.
