Teddi Mellencamp has shared an update about her health, revealing that additional tumors have been discovered in both her brain and lungs.
On Thursday, March 6, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 43, took to Instagram to inform her followers, later adding the same update to her Instagram Stories.
“I have 3 more tumors in my brain and 2 tumors on my lungs. These are all a direct result of my melanoma,” she wrote in her caption. Over the past two years, Teddi has had 17 melanoma spots removed.
“The doctors are optimistic that these new mutations will be treated with immunotherapy, starting Tuesday at 11AM,” she continued. “I’m feeling positive and excited—I’m going to beat these tumors.”
Teddi also mentioned getting a blonde wig, humorously adding that she “likes the short hair, just not the bald spots.”
“Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… f*** off, cancer!”
Previously, on Tuesday, Feb. 12, Teddi had opened up about enduring “severe and debilitating headaches” for several weeks, with the “unbearable” pain ultimately requiring hospitalization.
After a CT scan and MRI, doctors discovered multiple tumors on her brain, which they believed had been growing for at least six months.
On Feb. 12, four of the tumors were surgically removed, while the remaining smaller ones are set to be treated with radiation later.
On Wednesday, Feb. 26, Teddi provided her first post-surgery update, expressing gratitude for the “incredible surgeons, doctor, and nurses” who made her surgery a success.
“This fight is not over, but that round has been won,” she wrote, sharing a video of herself getting surgical staples removed from the back of her head.
By Friday, Feb. 28, she shared that she was “ready for radiation.” Then, on Tuesday, March 3, Teddi revealed she was finally returning home after 16 days in the hospital.
“Thank you to all my loves and lifesavers for getting me to this day,” she captioned the post.
The podcast host also admitted that it has been “very emotional” watching her body change due to the medications she’s on for the brain tumors.
“But I’m trying to focus on how grateful I am that I can move my body again,” she said through tears. “One day at a time, and I’ll get back to where I want to be, feeling my best.”
