Millie Bobby Brown recently revealed that she’s been using a stage name for years, sharing in a new interview that her real name is Millie Bonnie Brown.
During a conversation with her The Electric State co-star Chris Pratt for BuzzFeed UK, Brown explained that she decided to swap “Bonnie” for “Bobby” “for shits and giggles.”
She also admitted she had never shared this detail before, joking, “You heard it here first.”
Since becoming famous for her role as Eleven in Stranger Things, Brown has forged a strong relationship with Netflix, starring in projects like Enola Holmes and Damsel.
Her newest film, The Electric State, is another collaboration with the streaming platform.
The revelation about her real name comes amid recent media attention regarding Brown’s response to comments on her changing appearance.
Earlier this week, she posted a video addressing certain outlets for publishing articles about her looks, which led comedian Matt Lucas to publicly apologize after making an insulting remark.
The Electric State, Brown’s latest Netflix project, boasts an impressive cast, including Stanley Tucci, Giancarlo Esposito, and Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan.
Directed by the Russo brothers, this sci-fi adventure is set to premiere on Netflix on March 14, further adding to Brown’s growing list of high-profile projects.
