Taylor Swift gave a shout-out to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, during her Eras Tour concert in Miami, Florida, over the weekend, despite the Kansas City Chiefs player missing the show.
At her sold-out concert on Sunday, the singer once again altered the lyrics of her hit song Karma, changing “Karma is the guy on the screen” to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.”
Videos circulating on social media captured the entire crowd at Hard Rock Stadium cheering as Swift paid tribute to her NFL star boyfriend.
The 34-year-old singer has modified the lyrics to Karma several times before, but usually only when Kelce, 35, is in the audience.
Fans speculated that Swift’s shout-out might have been linked to the Chiefs’ 28-18 victory over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The Chiefs are currently the only undefeated team in the NFL this season.
Before the concert, Swift gave another nod to her boyfriend when several stadium TVs played the Chiefs’ game, as seen in fan videos shared on social media.
Meanwhile, some Swifties believe that Kelce also paid tribute to Swift with the all-blue outfit he wore while entering Levi’s Stadium over the weekend. His fashion choice came just days after Swift debuted four new blue outfits during her performances, and fans were quick to notice the matching colour scheme.
During Saturday’s show, fans were thrilled when the Grammy winner smiled while singing about someone treating her well during the surprise mashup performance of Loml and White Horse. As she sang, “’Cause I’m not your princess, this ain’t a fairytale / I’m gonna find someone someday / Who might actually treat me well,” she smiled at the piano, sparking further excitement.
Swift kicked off the final US leg of her Eras Tour last Friday. Though Kelce was unable to attend, he ensured his family showed their support. His brother, Jason Kelce, attended the concert with his wife, Kylie Kelce, and their two daughters, Wyatt, 4, and Elliotte, 3. Travis and Jason’s mother, Donna Kelce, was also present.
