Taylor Swift marked a major career milestone with a night out in New York City alongside longtime friend Selena Gomez.
The pop superstar was photographed Saturday evening enjoying dinner with Gomez at Monkey Bar, a historic Manhattan restaurant known for its upscale menu of steaks, pastas, and shellfish.
In a photo shared on X (formerly Twitter), Swift, 35, appeared visibly animated during a deep conversation with Gomez, 32, who listened intently across the table.
The outing came just one day after Swift announced she had successfully bought back the masters to her first six albums—a move she had been pursuing for years.
In a heartfelt handwritten letter posted to her website, the 14-time Grammy winner expressed her overwhelming joy.
“I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away,” she wrote.
“But that’s all in the past now… All of the music I’ve ever made … now belongs… to me.”
Swift lost control of the masters in 2019 when Scooter Braun’s Ithaca Holdings acquired her former label, Big Machine Records.
Braun later sold the catalogue to Shamrock Capital, prompting Swift to re-record her early work.
Gomez showed her support for Swift’s achievement with a message on Instagram Stories, writing that she was “so proud” of her friend.
