SZA Teases a Taylor Swift Collab, Reveals Kendrick Lamar’s Pre-Tour Advice

SZA is getting ready for a major tour, but she’s not doing it without some solid advice.

During her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Friday, March 21, the “Kill Bill” singer opened up about her upcoming tour with Kendrick Lamar and teased the possibility of a collaboration with Taylor Swift.

Jennifer Hudson asked SZA, 35, about her experience performing with Lamar, 37, during the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show and how she prepared for the performance.

“It was the best 30 seconds of my life,” SZA shared, adding that the song selection for the show had “changed a couple times.” She performed “Luther” and “All the Stars” with Lamar at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

“It ended up being the perfect amount of time for me to face a fear, try something new, and step into a space I hope to be allowed to grace again,” she continued. “I’m just grateful. God gives you a little bit and shows you what’s possible.”

SZA also spoke about the advice she received from Lamar ahead of their Grand National Tour together, noting that she learns best by watching others. “I get to pick up tips by observing him—how he carries himself, how he emotes,” she said. “There’s something you can’t explain when magic is happening, and watching him perform is pure magic.”

She recalled one of Lamar’s pointers, saying, “One time he told me to pretend to watch myself from above. He sees himself while performing, and it really changed things for me. When I watched myself from afar, I realized, ‘This isn’t what I want to see. I want to turn up!’ That’s when I started tapping into a different energy and spirit within myself.”

She also joked, “He’s a Gemini, so you never know.”

Lamar and SZA will kick off their Grand National Tour on April 19 in Minneapolis, with stops in cities like Philadelphia, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, Detroit, and Toronto before wrapping up in Washington D.C. in June.

Hudson also asked SZA about her time with Taylor Swift, 35, at the Grammys, wondering if they exchange advice or inspire each other.

“Every time she approaches me, I’m just like, ‘Okay, this is happening, that’s fully Taylor Swift,'” SZA said of the “Cruel Summer” singer. “I think I mentioned that I would love to write with her and build something together. I love her storytelling, and she was open to it.”

“I think she’s awesome. She’s so bossed up,” SZA added with a smile.
