Deondre Burgin, the 20-year-old boyfriend of actress Skai Jackson, was arrested in Kentucky last week due to an active warrant.
Records from the Kenton County Jail indicate that Burgin was taken into custody on Wednesday, April 17th, around 2:00 PM local time.
According to reports, the warrant originated in Hamilton County, Ohio, and stemmed from Burgin’s alleged failure to appear in court for a hearing related to a traffic violation specifically, not displaying a valid license plate on his vehicle.
The arrest was made by the Taylor Mill Police Department. Authorities confirmed that one of their officers spotted Burgin at a local gas station and, upon recognizing his name as being listed in the National Crime Information Center database, took him into custody.
Burgin, who is listed in jail records as being 6-foot-5 with red hair and weighing 185 pounds, spent approximately a week in jail before being released on Thursday afternoon.
This incident marks the second time Burgin has been arrested in the past six months. In November of the previous year, he was apprehended for a juvenile parole violation.
During that prior arrest, Burgin allegedly attempted to flee from officers who approached him. A police report detailed that he fell while running and sustained an injury to his left cheek.
He was subsequently cited for misdemeanor obstruction of official business in connection with that incident.
It was revealed in January that Burgin and Jackson, 23, had recently welcomed their first child together.
Notably, according to reports, Burgin was incarcerated at the time of his child’s birth and was unable to be present for the milestone moment.
This latest arrest adds to a series of legal issues for Burgin and brings renewed attention to his relationship with the former Disney star.
