Known for his hard-rocking hits with Skid Row, including classics like “18 and Life” and “Youth Gone Wild,” Sebastian Bach is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. But despite his rockstar status, there’s one genre of music that he still has his eye on: Christmas. In a recent interview on the This Day in Metal podcast, Bach revealed his plans to record a Christmas album in the future.
The iconic rocker shared, “At some point in my life, I need to do a Christmas record. I love Christmas music, and I know exactly the kind of Christmas record I would make. It’s not gonna be ‘Jingle Bells’ with electric guitars. It’s gonna be a traditional piano, organ-based record, vocals of songs I did in the church when I was in Peterborough, Ontario at the Anglican church. So that’s what I… I need to do that at some point.”
When asked about making a new album anytime soon, Bach expressed that while he definitely plans to make another record eventually, his current focus is on live shows and touring. He emphasized, “You don’t want that right now for me. You want live shows. …That’s what’s happening, we’re going on tour, that’s what we’re doing.”
Bach’s roots in music trace back to his days as a choir boy at All Saints Anglican Church in Ontario, Canada. Before he took the rock world by storm, he found inspiration in singing hymns like “Gloria in excelsis Deo” during Christmas masses. These early experiences have stayed with him, shaping his musical journey.
Currently, fans can catch Bach on his North American tour with Stitched Up Heart, aptly named “The Party Never Ends Tour.” With live shows lined up through the fall, Bach is keeping busy as he continues to share his passion for music with audiences across the country.
In addition to his tour, Bach recently released a cover of Ram Jam’s “Black Betty” titled “She Gets Me High.” The track features collaborations with Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Mick Mars, Travis Barker, and Duff McKagan, showcasing Bach’s versatility and love for collaboration in the music industry.
Sebastian Bach’s unwavering passion for music and his willingness to explore new genres like Christmas music show that his creative spirit knows no bounds. As he continues to rock the stage and connect with audiences through his music, Bach remains a true artist dedicated to his craft.
