Summer House star Paige DeSorbo is opening up about the health scare that caused her to leave her guest appearance on Love Island USA early.
Speaking on the June 11 episode of her Giggly Squad podcast, DeSorbo, 32, explained that she experienced a sudden medical emergency shortly after arriving in Fiji to film the show.
“It was a long day of filming, and we started early,” she said. “I had just landed in Fiji, and I wasn’t acclimated yet. But I didn’t want to complain, I was there to do a job.”
As the day went on, the intense sun started taking a toll on her. “The sun starts beating down on me pretty aggressively,” she recalled, adding that while she has a high pain tolerance, she began feeling off. “I was trying to push through, but I didn’t feel great.”
After about 90 minutes of filming, DeSorbo finally spoke up. “I said, ‘Real quick, I’m feeling a little queasy. Let me take a moment.’ And then I throw up.”
Even after getting sick, she said she tried to keep going. “I’m not feeling totally normal, but I didn’t want to stop the show. I was trying to be professional.”
But her body had other plans, she passed out while seated on set.
Producers quickly stepped in to help, and DeSorbo ultimately exited the show early to recover. Despite the scare, she assured listeners that she’s okay now and grateful for the experience.
