Olivia Munn has welcomed the latest addition to her family.
The 44-year-old actress and her husband, John Mulaney, 42, happily introduced their second child, a daughter, born through a gestational surrogate on September 14.
The couple shared this exciting news on Instagram on Sunday, September 22.
“Méi June Mulaney came into the world September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon🐉,” the post read.
“I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel,” she continued.
“Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true.”
Munn also disclosed the baby’s name, sharing its meaning as well.
“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded,” she wrote, before adding “Méi (pronounced may) means plum in Chinese 梅💜.”
The proud mom of two concluded her post with a series of heartwarming pictures: a closeup of baby Méi, a tender moment of her cradling her daughter by a large window, and a family portrait capturing the new family of four gazing out at the ocean.
Mulaney also took to his Instagram to share the exciting news. The new father of two wrote, “Méi June Mulaney entered the world on September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon🐉. We may have ‘borrowed’ a few things from the hospital,” he joked.
In addition to showcasing the hospital photo on his carousel, Mulaney included a video of the adorable moment when his daughter spit up on his shirt while he burped her.
The latest member of their family joins their son Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney, who turned 2 on Nov. 24, 2021.
This announcement follows shortly after their wedding in July and just months after Munn bravely shared her battle with breast cancer in an interview with PEOPLE in April.
She recounted her challenging journey, including four surgeries, a double mastectomy, and entering medically induced menopause.
Despite the hurdles she faced since her diagnosis, Munn provided an update on Instagram on Sept. 4, sharing that she was “doing ok.”
In a heartfelt video, she detailed the timeline of her cancer treatment, from undergoing procedures like “nipple delay, lymph node dissection, and double mastectomy” in May 2023 to egg retrieval in June 2023 and breast reconstruction in September 2023.
In May, Munn told Vogue that following her diagnosis, she made the decision to freeze her eggs, providing herself and Mulaney the chance to grow their family in the future.
This choice came after she had already frozen her eggs at ages 33 and 39.
Also, in another update on September 4, she revealed that she underwent lupron treatment in November 2023, a partial hysterectomy/oophorectomy in April 2024, and most recently, Arimidex treatment in August 2024.
