NAPTIP Intercepts 25 Women Suspected of Labor Exploitation and Trafficking to Saudi Arabia

NAPTIP recently intercepted 25 women who were suspected to be victims of labor exploitation and trafficking to Saudi Arabia.

The victims, aged between 17 and 43, were promised well-paying jobs as domestic workers but were left stranded in Abuja without proper documents.

This incident sheds light on the exploitation of vulnerable individuals by trafficking syndicates who operate in Abuja as a central coordination point.

NAPTIP’s Director General, Binta Adamu Bello, expressed concern over the continued exploitation of trafficking victims in destination countries and called on regulatory bodies to step up their efforts in monitoring and regulating the activities of travel agencies and placement agencies.

The agency successfully disrupted the trafficking process and is working towards holding the responsible parties accountable for their actions.
